OVERCOME FEARS AND PHOBIAS WITH EASE USING HYPNOTHERAPY
Arachnophobia is one of the top 10 phobias experienced around the world.
So...What Are You Scared Of? Are you afraid of enclosed spaces, injections or spiders? Then you are not alone. About 10% of us suffer from a phobic reaction to certain things, with agoraphobia and social phobia being the most common. Where as some phobias, such a a fear of snakes, are less serious in the sense that they have less impact on the freedom of the individual, other phobias can have a truly devastating effect on the quality of life. People literally live in fear and lead a very restricted housebound existence!
There will usually be strong avoidance behaviour connected with the phobia, and feelings of anxiety, loss of control and panic. Sufferers usually know their fear is irrational, but they cannot control it. If you do have a phobia, it is wise to take action rather than to ‘grin and bear it’ as it tends to get worse over time, especially if you avoid situations that trigger your fear.
What is the Difference between a Real Fear and a Phobia? Fear is a natural response caused by real danger. For example, we are all scared of coming face to face with a wild hungry tiger, and fear is a survival instinct which warns us against certain things or situations. A phobia, on the other hand, is an irrational fear of an object or situation that causes little or no danger.
Causes of a Phobia You’re not born with phobias, and they tend to begin in childhood and may occur for a number of reasons. Generally a specific traumatic event may trigger it, or it can be learned behaviour from family members with phobias. However random phobias can also sometimes sprout up later on in life for no apparent reason due to someone going through a troubling episode and suffering from high levels of anxiety at that time.
How Can Hypnotherapy Help Me? Using various hypnotherapy techniques Alex can find the root cause of the phobia if unknown, remove the emotion from the memory, then make positive changes by laying down new calmer and confident ways of thinking and behaving in relation to a particular fear, ensuring lasting results. You are always in control during a hypnotherapy session and never have to do anything against your will. Alex always go at a pace you are comfortable with which is reassuring to someone whose phobia is very extreme.

"Through Alexandra’s support, and her guidance of ways to deal with anxiety, I have reached the point of being able to manage my fear of social situations to the point of feeling only a little anxious or completely relaxed in situations I used to find terrifying.
